2024-04-16libcamera: software_isp: Add SwStatsCpu classHans de Goede
Add a CPU based SwStats implementation for SoftwareISP / SoftIPA use. This implementation offers a configure function + functions to gather statistics on a line by line basis. This allows CPU based software debayering to call into interleave debayering and statistics gathering on a line by line basis while the input data is still hot in the cache. This implementation also allows specifying a window over which to gather statistics instead of processing the whole frame. Doxygen documentation by Dennis Bonke. 2024-04-16libcamera: shared_mem_object: Reorganize the code and document the ↵Andrei Konovalov
SharedMemObject class The SharedMemObject class template contains a fair amount of inline code that does not depend on the template types T. To avoid duplicating it in every template specialization, split that code to a separate base SharedMem class. We don't define copy semantics for the classes (we don't need one at the moment) and we make them non-copyable since the default copy constructor would lead to use-after-unmap. Add a new control_ranges.yaml file that is used to reserve control id ranges/offsets for libcamera and vendor specific controls. This file is used by the gen-controls.py script to generate control id values for each control. Draft controls now have a separate range from core libcamera controls, breaking the existing numbering behaviour. 2023-11-29build: controls: Rework how controls and properties are generatedNaushir Patuck
Add support for using separate YAML files for controls and properties generation. The mapping of vendor/pipeline handler to control file is done through the controls_map variable in include/libcamera/meson.build. This simplifies management of vendor control definitions and avoids possible merge conflicts when changing the control_ids.yaml file for core and draft controls. With this change, libcamera and draft controls and properties files are designated the 'libcamera' vendor tag. In this change, we also rename control_ids.yaml -> control_ids_core.yaml and property_ids.yaml -> property_ids_core.yaml to designate these as core libcamera controls. 2023-11-29controls: Add vendor control/property support to generation scriptsNaushir Patuck
Add support for vendor-specific controls and properties to libcamera. The controls/properties are defined by a "vendor" tag in the YAML control description file, for example: vendor: rpi controls: - MyExampleControl: type: string description: | Test for libcamera vendor-specific controls. This will now generate a control id in the libcamera::controls::rpi namespace, ensuring no id conflict between different vendors, core or draft libcamera controls. Similarly, a ControlIdMap control is generated in the libcamera::controls::rpi namespace. A #define LIBCAMERA_HAS_RPI_VENDOR_CONTROLS is also generated to allow applications to conditionally compile code if the specific vendor controls are present. For the python bindings, the control is available with libcamera.controls.rpi.MyExampleControl. The above controls example applies similarly to properties. Existing libcamera controls defined in control_ids.yaml are given the "libcamera" vendor tag. A new --mode flag is added to gen-controls.py to specify the mode of operation, either 'controls' or 'properties' to allow the code generator to correctly set the #define string. As a drive-by, sort and redefine the output command line argument in gen-controls.py and gen-py-controls.py to ('--output', '-o') for consistency. 2022-10-13meson: Shared Object version handlingKieran Bingham
The libcamera project is not yet ready to declare ABI nor API stability, but it will benefit the community to be able to provide more regular release cycles to determine 'versioned' points of history. Ideally, these releases will be made at any ABI breakage, but can be made at arbitary time based points along the way. To support releases which may not be ABI stable, declare the soversion of both the libcamera and libcamera-base library to be dependant upon both the major minor and patch component of the project version. As part of this, introduce a new 'Versions' summary section to highlight the different version components that may become apparent within any given build. Bumping versions may leave dangling libcamera.so.* symlinks in build directories. This will confuse Doxygen which will print during its directory scanning phase a warning that the symlink can't be read. As we don't need Doxygen to follow symlinks, disable it with EXCLUDE_SYMLINKS. 2022-08-09libcamera: Make IPA module signing recommended instead of mandatoryLaurent Pinchart
Commit b382f67c833d ("libcamera: Make IPA module signing mandatory for the meantime") made openssl and gnutls dependencies mandatory to work around the lack of proper IPA module isolation support, which broke operation without module signatures. This has now been fixed, so IPA module isolation isn't strictly required anymore. There are few use cases for disabling module signing completely, given that the openssl or gnutls dependencies are available on the vast majority of systems and the overheard introduced by isolating all IPA modules when signatures are not available is better avoided. Nonetheless, libcamera should operate properly with forced IPA module isolation, so we can support those use cases. Adopt a middle-ground approach to avoid unintentional isolation by documenting the dependencies as recommended, and warn at meson setup time if they are not found. The libcamera and libcamera-base libraries are currently unversioned, but donwstream users expect these to have a proper SONAME version in order to package them. A stable release has not yet happened because the project is still under development and the API/ABI might change. But having a versioned SONAME would allow distributions to package libcamera, without the need to add any downstream patch to set the version. Move the functionality for the following components to the new base support library: - BoundMethod - EventDispatcher - EventDispatcherPoll - Log - Message - Object - Signal - Semaphore - Thread - Timer While it would be preferable to see these split to move one component per commit, these components are all interdependent upon each other, which leaves us with one big change performing the move for all of them. 2021-06-25libcamera/base: Introduce new base libraryKieran Bingham
The libcamera-base.so will feature internal support functionality that is utilised by libcamera, and can be shared in other places. This new library provides a layer beneath libcamera which provides common abstractions to internal objects. A pkg-config file is generated and named libcamera-base.pc which allows components such as external IPA modules to link directly to this library if they need. Normal applications will reference this library through the Requires: statement provided by the libcamera.pc package configuration, and linkage will be handled automatically through the pkg-config mechanisms. No code is moved to this library yet, this patch only introduces the framework, construction and linkage. 2021-06-25libcamera: Separate source and build path helpersKieran Bingham
The libcameraSourcePath and libcameraBuildPath helper functions are internal and specific to libcamera needs while operating with the meson build system. In preparation for the upcoming move of utils to a common library, move these helpers out of utils and into their own build unit. 2021-06-25libcamera: Rename libcamera pkg-config generationKieran Bingham
The libcamera library is moved to the first positional argument of the pkg-config generator to automatically populate the name and filebase values for the package. As part of this, the shared library name is adjusted to the full library name 'libcamera', without relying upon the automatic 'lib' prefix which better represents the component and naming of the library. As a result of this, the pkgconfig file is now named 'libcamera.pc' as opposed to 'camera.pc', and applications desiring to reference libcamera will need to search for 'libcamera' as a dependency rather than 'camera'. The library itself is still created and installed as 'libcamera.so'. An example meson.build file would need to be adjusted as the following: - dependency('camera', required : true), + dependency('libcamera', required : true), Reviewed-by: Paul Elder <paul.elder@ideasonboard.com> Reviewed-by: Hirokazu Honda <hiroh@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Signed-off-by: Kieran Bingham <kieran.bingham@ideasonboard.com>
2021-06-25libcamera: Move libcamera.so pkg-config file generationKieran Bingham
The pkg-config file for the main libcamera.so is generated at the top level meson.build. Move this to the actual core libcamera build structure to be consistent and keep it next to the library construction.
