2024-11-26meson: Don't unnecessarily fallback to libyuv wrapLaurent Pinchart
Before commit eeaa7de21b8c ("libcamera: pipeline: Add test pattern for VirtualPipelineHandler") the libyuv dependency was only needed for the Android adaptation layer. As libyuv isn't packaged by most distribution, meson fell back to using a meson wrap if the Android adaptation layer was enabled and the library wasn't found. With commit eeaa7de21b8c, libyuv is also used by the virtual pipeline handler, and the meson wrap fallback handling got centralized and became unconditional, so the wrap is downloaded even if the components depending on libyuv are all disabled. This causes unnecessary downloads at setup time, which can be problematic on build systems without an internet connection. Fix this by making the wrap fallback conditional on the components that use libyuv. 2024-11-20libcamera: pipeline: Add test pattern for VirtualPipelineHandlerHarvey Yang
Add a test pattern generator class hierarchy for the Virtual pipeline handler. Implement two types of test patterns: color bars and diagonal lines generator and use them in the Virtual pipeline handler. A shifting mechanism is enabled. For each frame, the image is shifted to the left by 1 pixel. It drops FPS though. Add a dependency for libyuv to the build system to generate images in NV12 format from the test pattern. 2021-12-11android: Remove CameraWorkerJacopo Mondi
The CameraWorker class purpose was to handle acquire fences for incoming capture requests directed to libcamera. Now that fences are handled by the core library, it is not required to handle them in the HAL and the CameraWorker and CaptureRequest classes can be dropped. Update the core in CameraDevice class accordingly to queue Requests directly to the libcamera::Camera and set the release_fence to the value of the FrameBuffer::fence() for streams of type ::Direct. While at it make CameraRequest::StreamBuffer::fence a UniqueFD to ease the management of the fences file descriptor values. 2021-10-19camera_device: Remove private scope of Camera3RequestDescriptorUmang Jain
Camera3RequestDescriptor is a utility structure that groups information about a capture request. It can be and will be extended to preserve the context of a capture overall. Since the context of a capture needs to be shared among other classes (for e.g. CameraStream) having a private definition of the struct in CameraDevice class doesn't help. Hence, de-scope the structure so that it can be shared with other components (through references or pointers). Splitting the structure to a separate file will help avoiding circular dependencies when using it through the HAL implementation. 2021-06-25libcamera/base: Validate internal headers as privateKieran Bingham
Headers which must not be exposed as part of the public libcamera API should include base/private.h. Any interface which includes the private.h header will only be able to build if the libcamera_private dependency is used (or the libcamera_base_private dependency directly). Build targets which are intended to use the private API's will use the libcamera_private to handle the automatic definition of the inclusion guard. 2021-06-25android: cros: Simplify integrationKieran Bingham
The ChromeOS specific Android HAL support was overly-complex to support linking an additional library, and then passing the built object into the libcamera.so build. Now that it has its own distinct libcamera-hal.so, simplify the CrOS integration to build directly into that library. The removal of the -Wno-shadow here is intentional, as it is not required for compilation of the camera3_hal.o object. 2020-10-14android: camera_worker: Introduce CameraWorkerJacopo Mondi
The Android camera framework provides for each buffer part of a capture request an acquisition fence the camera HAL is supposed to wait on before using the buffer. As the libcamera HAL runs in the camera service thread, it is not possible to perform a synchronous wait there. Introduce a CameraWorker class that runs an internal thread to wait on a set of fences before queueing a capture request to the libcamera::Camera. Fences completion is handled through a simple poll, similar in implementation to the sync_wait() function provided by libdrm. 2020-05-13licenses: License all meson files under CC0-1.0Laurent Pinchart
In an attempt to clarify the license terms of all files in the libcamera project, the build system files deserve particular attention. While they describe how the binaries are created, they are not themselves transformed into any part of binary distributions of the software, and thus don't influence the copyright on the binary packages. They are however subject to copyright, and thus influence the distribution terms of the source packages. Most of the meson.build files would not meet the threshold of originality criteria required for copyright protection. Some of the more complex meson.build files may be eligible for copyright protection. To avoid any ambiguity and uncertainty, state our intent to not assert copyrights on the build system files by putting them in the public domain with the CC0-1.0 license.
