2024-05-16ipa: rpi: Add HDR supportNaushir Patuck
Add support for the following HDR modes in the Raspberry Pi IPA: - Night mode - Single exposure mode - Multi-exposure (merged and unmerged) The algorithm is updated to expect the HDR short channel to meter explicitly for highlights. This means that it will not in general under-expose the short channel more than is actually necessary. When images don't have much saturation, it's good to detect this so that some of the boost we want to apply to the dark areas can be implemented as regular gain. This means we can then adjust the tone curve less, leading to less flat looking images. The impact on the HDR algorithm is then that this determines how we build tonemaps dynamically. The highlights are more-or-less correct now, so we have to build a power-type curve that gives us the appropriately configured targets in the lower part of the histogram. We allow the tuning file to supply the maximum spatial gain value, rather than the whole curve (though it can supply this if it wants). Some parameter defaults are tweaked to be generally better across the range of our cameras. 2024-05-08libcamera: Drop file name from header comment blocksLaurent Pinchart
Source files in libcamera start by a comment block header, which includes the file name and a one-line description of the file contents. While the latter is useful to get a quick overview of the file contents at a glance, the former is mostly a source of inconvenience. The name in the comments can easily get out of sync with the file name when files are renamed, and copy & paste during development have often lead to incorrect names being used to start with. Readers of the source code are expected to know which file they're looking it. Drop the file name from the header comment block. 2024-01-09ipa: vc4: Implement the StatsOutputEnable vendor controlNaushir Patuck
Implement the StatsOutputEnable control for the VC4 IPA. When set, this outputs the ISP statistics as a uint8_t span through the Bcm2835StatsOutput metadata control. To get this working, IpaBase::libcameraMetadata_ is moved from a private to a protected member variable. This makes it accessable to the VC4 derived IPA class. 2023-07-25ipa: rpi: common: Handle AEC/AGC flicker controlsDavid Plowman
We handle the flicker modes by passing the correct period to the AEC/AGC algorithm which already contains the necessary code. The "Auto" mode, as well as reporting the detected flicker period via the "AeFlickerDetected" metadata, are unsupported for now. 2023-06-05ipa: rpi: Handle controls for mono variant sensorsNaushir Patuck
Do not advertise colour related controls (i.e. [A]WB, colour saturation) in the ControlInfoMap of available controls returned out to the application. Silently ignore these controls in the control handler in case applications don't use the advertised ControlInfoMap to validate controls. As a drive-by fix, don't advertise controls::ColourCorrectionMatrix in the ControlInfoMap as it is not handled by the IPA. 2023-05-04ipa: raspberrypi: Introduce IpaBase classNaushir Patuck
Create a new IpaBase class that handles general purpose housekeeping duties for the Raspberry Pi IPA. The implementation of the new class is essentially pulled from the existing ipa/rpi/vc4/raspberrypi.cpp file with a minimal amount of refactoring. Create a derived IpaVc4 class from IpaBase that handles the VC4 pipeline specific tasks of the IPA. Again, code for this class implementation is taken from the existing ipa/rpi/vc4/raspberrypi.cpp with a minimal amount of refactoring. The goal of this change is to allow third parties to implement their own IPA running on the Raspberry Pi without duplicating all of the IPA housekeeping tasks.
