2020-05-16libcamera: Move IPA headers from include/ipa/ to include/libcamera/ipa/Laurent Pinchart
The IPA headers are installed into $prefix/include/libcamera/ipa/, but are located in the source tree in include/ipa/. This requires files within libcamera to include them with #include <ipa/foo.h> while a third party IPA would need to use #include <libcamera/ipa/foo.h> Not only is this inconsistent, it can create issues later if IPA headers need to include each other, as the first form of include directive wouldn't be valid once the headers are installed. Fix the problem by moving the IPA headers to include/libcamera/ipa/. Signed-off-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Acked-by: Jacopo Mondi <jacopo@jmondi.org>
2020-04-28libcamera: ipa: Add support for CameraSensorInfoJacopo Mondi
Add support for camera sensor information in the libcamera IPA protocol. Define a new 'struct ipa_sensor_info' structure in the IPA context and use it to perform translation between the C and the C++ API. Update the IPAInterface::configure() operation to accept a new CameraSensorInfo parameter and port all users of that function to the new interface. Signed-off-by: Jacopo Mondi <jacopo@jmondi.org>
2020-04-28ipa: Pass IPA initialization settings to IPAInterface::init()Laurent Pinchart
Add a new IPASettings class to pass IPA initialization settings through the IPAInterface::init() method. The settings currently only contain the name of a configuration file, and are expected to be extended later. 2020-04-14libcamera: ipa_manager: Proxy open-source IPAs to a threadLaurent Pinchart
While closed-source IPA modules will always be sandboxed, open-source IPA modules may be run in the main libcamera process or be sandboxed, depending on platform configuration. These two models exhibit very different timings, which require extensive testing with both configurations. When run into the main libcamera process, IPA modules are executed in the pipeline handler thread (which is currently a global CameraManager thread). Time-consuming operations in the IPA may thus slow down the pipeline handler and compromise real-time behaviour. At least some pipeline handlers will thus likely spawn a thread to isolate the IPA, leading to code duplication in pipeline handlers. Solve both issues by always proxying IPA modules. For open-source IPA modules that run in the libcamera process, a new IPAProxyThread class is added to run the IPA in a separate thread. 2020-04-14ipa: Add start() and stop() operationsNiklas Söderlund

2020-01-12ipa: Switch to FrameBuffer interfaceNiklas Söderlund
Switch the IPA interfaces and implementations to use the Framebuffer interface. - The IPA interface is switched to use the simpler FrameBuffer::Plane container when carrying dmabuf descriptions (fd and length) over the pipeline/IPA boundary. - The RkISP1 IPA implementation takes advantage of the new simpler and safer (better control over file descriptors) FrameBuffer interface. 2019-11-20ipa: Allow short-circuiting the ipa_context_opsLaurent Pinchart
When an IPA module is loaded without isolation and implements the IPAInterface internally, going through ipa_context_ops is a waste of time. Add an operation to retrieve the IPAInterface, and use it directly in the IPAContextWrapper. For debugging purpose, make it possible to forcing usage of the C API by defining the LIBCAMERA_IPA_FORCE_C_API environment variable. IPA modules have to implement a public ipaCreate() function, but its prototype isn't declared in any header file. 2019-11-20ipa: Define a plain C APILaurent Pinchart
The C++ objects that are expected to convey data through the IPA API will have associated methods that would require IPAs to link to libcamera. Even though the libcamera license allows this, suppliers of closed-source IPAs may have a different interpretation. To ease their mind and clearly separate vendor code and libcamera code, define a plain C IPA API. The corresponding C objects are stored in plain C structures or have their binary format documented, removing the need for linking to libcamera code on the IPA side. The C API adds three new C structures, ipa_context, ipa_context_ops and ipa_callback_ops. The ipa_context_ops and ipa_callback_ops contain function pointers for all the IPA interface methods and signals, respectively. The ipa_context represents a context of operation for the IPA, and is passed to the IPA oparations. The IPAInterface class is retained as it is easier to use than a plain C API for pipeline handlers, and wrappers will be developed to translate between the C and C++ APIs. Switching to the C API internally will be done in a second step. 2019-09-15libcamera: Move ipa includes to the same level as libcameraLaurent Pinchart
The ipa includes are located in include/libcamera/ipa/. This gives an incorrect impression that they are a sub-part of the rest of the libcamera API, while they are the API towards the IPA the same way that include/libcamera/ contains the API towards applications. To clarify this, move them to include/ipa/. The IPA headers are however still part of libcamera, so installing them to ${prefix}/include/ipa/ would make little sense. To fix this, move the application facing API to ${prefix}/include/libcamera/libcamera/ when installed, and the IPA to ${prefix}/include/libcamera/ipa/. When major versions of libcamera will be released, they could then be installed side by side in ${prefix}/include/libcamera-${version}/. Define an IPAInterface class which will contain an IPA implementation. The methods that the IPAInterface exposes form the interface to the IPA implementation, hence the name.
